Material Specifications & Quality
All bunker and shelter units are manufactured to BS EN 1992-1-1 and ACI 318 structural concrete standards.
- Concrete Strength: Design mix C40/50 — minimum 5,000 PSI (34.5 MPa) at 28 days; standard production achieves 5,800 PSI (40 MPa).
- UHPC Option: Ultra-High Performance Concrete available for projects requiring enhanced blast resistance, reduced wall thickness, or extreme durability.
- Cement Type: OPC (Type I) for standard applications; SRC (Type V) available for saline/coastal environments.
- Reinforcement: Double-layer welded mesh using 12mm deformed steel bars (460 N/mm²) at 200mm × 200mm grid spacing.
- Coated Rebar Options: Epoxy-coated or galvanised steel rebar available for corrosion-critical or coastal applications. Rebar grade, size, and spacing designed per project structural requirements.
- Slab Thickness: 250mm standard; 150mm (6") available per structural design.
- Curing: Factory-controlled steam or water-pond curing to achieve optimal early strength.
- Finish: Smooth finish on internal surfaces for clean-room or equipment housing applications; standard F3/F4 off-shutter finish on external surfaces. Optional waterproofing membrane.
