Product Description
Concrete Utility Route Marker
Product Overview
Concrete Utility Route Markers are non-negotiable safety assets for the protection of buried infrastructure. These surface-level indicators provide visual confirmation of underground service corridors, including High Voltage (HV) cables, water pipelines, and fiber optic networks.
In accordance with DEWA and utility provider regulations, these markers serve as a permanent “No Dig” warning to excavation contractors, preventing costly service strikes and potentially fatal accidents.
Material Specifications & Quality
- Concrete: High-strength, dense C35 mix to resist weathering and abrasion.
- Lettering: Deeply recessed (impressed) characters during casting—ensuring legibility remains even if the surface is worn.
- Shape: Truncated pyramid design provides a “soil lock” effect, making unauthorized removal difficult once buried.
Key Technical Advantages
- Asset Protection: Clearly delineates the path of critical infrastructure, facilitating safe excavation and maintenance.
- Versatile Design: Flush-Type Markers for paved areas/parking; Surface-Type for unpaved/desert routes.
- Permanent Identification: Unlike plastic tapes or spray paint, concrete markers withstand decades of UV exposure and soil movement.
- Standard Markings: Available with standard utility codes:
- E / HV / LV: Electric / High Voltage / Low Voltage
- W: Water
- T / FO: Telephone / Fiber Optic
- G: Gas
- Retrofittable: Can be installed over existing services during brownfield works or landscaping upgrades.

Applications in the UAE
- Utility Corridors: Marking the centerline or boundary of service reservations in desert or urban areas. Install at 50-meter intervals on straight runs as per DEWA transmission standards.
- High Voltage Networks: Mandatory for 132kV/400kV corridor identification.
- Joint Bays: Identifying the location of underground cable joints or splice enclosures.
- Valve Chambers: Pointing to subsurface water valves or hydrants.
- Boundary Demarcation: Defining plot limits in undeveloped land.
