As a supplier, we see the future before the public does. We see it in the Bill of Quantities (BOQs) that land in our estimation department every morning.

In 2024, we saw a lot of “Villas” and “Townhouses.” In 2026, the trend has shifted aggressively.

The 3 Big Shifts

1. The Return of Mega-Infrastructure

We are seeing massive inquiries for Drainage Channels, Cable Troughs, and Heavy Road Barriers. This tells us the government is upgrading the arterial veins of the country—highways, power grids, and water networks—to support the population boom.

2. The “Smart City” Street Furniture

It’s not just a “light pole foundation” anymore. The specs now ask for foundations with embedded conduits for Fiber Optic cables, CCTV mounts, and EV charging points. Infrastructure is becoming “Smart,” and the concrete needs to accommodate that.

3. Modularization of Everything

Contractors are asking: “Can you precast the manholes too? Can you precast the stairs?” The industry is moving away from “building” and towards “assembling.”

What This Means for You

If you are a contractor still bidding on “labour-only” blockwork, you are fighting for scraps. The big contracts are in Utilities and Infrastructure. Gear up. Train your teams on installation/lifting, not just mixing mortar.

The future is heavy, precast, and fast.
